Huang Yu-hsiao and Huang Tzu-hsuan claimed gold in ten-pin bowling mixed doubles. “They performed outstandingly and saw off the competition in a calm and steady manner,” Taiwan team manager Wu Ching-chi said.
Yang Chuan-hui followed suit in athletics men’s 100-meter, setting a games’ record of 11.7 seconds. He continued his good form for 2014 that saw him claim silver at April’s China Open Athletics Championships in Beijing.
The silvers were won by Lee Kai-lin in judo women’s 48 kilograms; Chang Hui-min and Lee Chia-chieh, as well as Chiu Pei-yu and Ker Min, in ten-pin bowling mixed doubles; Hsieh Hsiang-yi and Yang Chun-lan in wheelchair dance sport combi standard class 2; and Kuo Wen-sheng and Huang Yi-jung in wheelchair dance sport duo Latin class 2.
Bronzes went to Lin Ya-hsuan in powerlifting women’s 55 kilograms; Huang Jen-jong and Lu Tai-an in ten-pin bowling mixed doubles; and Kao Sheng-tsun and Lin Hsin-ju in wheelchair dance sport duo Latin class 2.
Taiwan’s 119-member contingent for the Oct. 18-24 games will contest archery, athletics, badminton, judo, powerlifting, shooting, swimming, table tennis, ten-pin bowling, and wheelchair basketball, dance sport and tennis. (SSC-JSM)
